Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2008 50% 70cl
Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2008 Heavily Peated is the first heavily peated Islay whisky to be distilled exclusively from barley grown on Islay.
Nose: Subtle to begin with. Opens up to peat smoke and clean notes of pears, apples, cereal pudding, lemon and vanilla with moist fruits. Toasted oak sugars combine perfectly with smoke and soft fruits, very elegant
Palate: Fruit theme continues with fresh apple and melon supported by caramelized wood sugars and oaty, biscuit notes. Peat is more apparent but doesn´t dominate. Holds up beautifully without water
Finish: Long finish with sweet peat, very mild old bonfire smoke, sweet fruits and cereal
