Powerscourt Fercullen Cask Select Single Grain Cask Strength 56.6% 70cl
13 year old Fercullen Single Grain finished in an Imperial Stout infused cask from O Brother Brewing.
In early 2022 our friends at O Brother Brewing requested 5 Fercullen single malt barrels which were then filled with ‘Opus One’ imperial stout 12.5%. to get a whiskey influence.
The barrels were returned to Powerscourt and filled with single grain in May 2022.
Some of this single grain was released in October 2022 at 48.5% abv
The remaining 3 barrels were batched and released at Cask strength 56.6% abv after 17 months finishing.
This Distillery exclusive release is limited to just 800 bottles.
Nose: Dark chocolate with chilli and lime, grapefruit, hazelnut, soda bread
Palate: Rich chocolate ganache, fruit loaf, buttery popcorn
Finish: Cocoa nibs, dry spice, citrus hops with roasted malts
