Château de la Ligne Cuvée Prestige 2021 - France
Robe/colour: deep red with tints of crushed cherry.
Nose/bouquet: fruity aroma with notes of red and black fruits, and a refreshing hint of minerality.
Taste/palate: pleasant on the palate with silky and racy tannins, well balanced with a good long lasting impression on the mouth.
General impression: this is an elegant wine which gives immediate pleasure while reflecting the identity of its 'terroir. Body & rich fruity flavors will develop well with ageing.
Château de la Ligne's ancient origins date back to the 12 century. During this period Eleanor Duchess of Aquitaine signed a charter authorizing the construction of a monestary to welcome pilgrims en route to Santigao de Compostella. Irish businessman Terry Cross purchased the property in March 2000 and replanted the historic vineyard in 2002.
The vineyard of Château de la Ligne covers an area of just under 10 hectares located in Lignan De Bordeaux, at the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers Wine region of Bordeaux. The vines benefit from an exceptionally south-south westerly facing hilltop location and clay - limestone soils with some gravelly areas at the south eastern corner of the vineyard where the Cabernet Sauvignon plots are located.
